Tortoises, Snakes, Mangroves, and More

July 01, 2019

This trail goes past Coastal Dune Lake and the Endangered Beach habitat along the park’s eastern boundary that is home to sea oats, sea turtles, and other protected flora and fauna. One of the park’s most popular events takes place every Friday and Saturday, when a live animal presentation is held. Featured are animals that call the park home, including the Eastern Indigo Snake, Florida Rat Snakes and Corn Snakes, and native turtle species. Walks range between 1-2 miles, so be sure to wear comfortable shoes and bring your own water. Guided walks are free, but donations are always appreciated.
